As per my previous post, we are in the process of Renovating our back yard.

Spring Has Sprung!!!!!

How lovely is the Spring time weather in South East Queensland at the moment!!
It's funny how as soon as the weather starts to warm up everyone wants to start Renovating or Decorating!!

It's been a very busy month- thus the delay in getting this post to you-:-)

We are also taking full advantage of it and are in the process of renovating our back courtyard.
Here are some pictures of Phase 1-  The ugly part :-).

What are you doing this Spring to improve your outdoor spaces??

Phase 1: Before Shot- remove lower branches off
trees and garden logs



Start the back breaking part!!- removing old
grass and  soil and old plants out of the garden.
We are keeping the trees.

Adding the top soil and levelling it out
- already looks cleaner!!

Ahh..... the first slab of turf.
Now onto Phase 2.... the garden and edging!!

The Nursery.....for all the new Mum's out there!

As Mitchell House Interiors is celebrating it's 1st birthday- I am dedicating this post to all my friends who have recently had a baby or are about to have a baby!!....and there are a few!

Yes..... we are officially 1year old!

Winter is Coming!!!

Yes.... it is that time of year!
When the temperature drops as you sit on the sofa to watch your favorite T.V. program and you need to snuggle under your beloved throw rug.
Throw rugs come in many different textures and materials- from the traditional wool tartan throw, graphic woven throws in different colours and blends, alpaca/wool, to cotton/fabric. They can be knitted, crocheted, woven, or sewen, with tassles or tailored trims. Here is a selection of some beautiful throws that I love.

Female Bedroom Project- Neutral with a touch of Hawaiian!!

Amongst an array of projects I'm working on at the moment I am lucky to be doing a young females room in a neutral scheme with a few touches of Hawaii and the Tropics! I'm in my element!!

Love the bed and the palm fronds, a sophisticated approach.

What's not to love about this bedroom, its light, textured and tropical!



 Adding a little colour to gives some personality
 to a neutral scheme.
